We imaged comet 409P/Loneos-Hill and its nice tail and we are pleased to share our picture with you.

The image above comes from the average of five, 300-seconds exposures, unfiltered, remotely collected with the “Elena” (PlaneWave 17″+Paramount ME+SBIG STL-6303E) robotic unit available at the Virtual Telescope Project. The robotic telescope tracked the apparent motion of comet 409P/Loneos-Hill, so stars left trails on the background.

A nice tail is easily visible, pointing west, where some glare from the extremely bright start Arcturus (a few degrees apart) is visible.
