Interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS (aka C/2025 N1 ATLAS) and its ion tail – 19 Nov. 2025.

We imaged the interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS (C/2025 N1 ATLAS) under good sky conditions, recording its fascinating ion tail.

The image above comes from the sigma-clipping combination of 11, 120-second exposures, remotely taken with the ARTEC250+Paramount ME+C3Pro61000EC robotic unit available as part of the Virtual Telescope Project facility in Manciano, Italy.

The ion tail of 3I/ATLAS is well visible, pointing in the NW direction and revealing its intricate structure. It is also well visible the anti-tail, pointing to SE. A few faint satellite trails are visible.
