The potentially hazardous asteroid (7482) 1994 PC1 has an estimated diameter in the range 750 – 1350 meters (source: Nasa/JPL): this will make it quite bright before the fly-by, so it will be visible through small instruments, mainly from the Southern hemisphere. The Virtual Telescope Project will show it live, online, just at the fly-by time, when it will peak in brightness, finally well placed in the sky for the Northern hemisphere. This way, you can join the journey from the comfort of your home. Curios this (safe!) opportunity will come while people are looking at the “Don’t look up” movie!

The live feed will start on 18 Jan. 2022 at 20:00 UTC.
