“CZ-5B R/B, a falling satellite”: online observation of the Chinese rocket body – 8 May 2021

As we know, the Chinese CZ-5M R/B rocket body, used to put in orbit the Chinese “Tianhe” space station core module, is re-entering our atmosphere soon. Next 8 May, we will offer you the unique chance to see it during one of its very last passes across the skies. You can join us online, via the internet, from the comfort of your home.

The re-entry is expected to happen around May 9 and, before that, we will try to share with you this unique view, live!

The Virtual Telescope Project offers you the opportunity to see the Long March 5B rocket body during one of its final passes across the stars. This live coverage is scheduled for 8 May 2021, starting at 02:40 UTC. This time can be re-adjusted as the orbit evolves, so keep an eye on this page for updates.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: as for the latest predictions, the nominal re-entry date/time is earlier than our scheduled event, but because of the uncertainty, we will try the same!

To join our CZ-5B R/B live stream, you just need to enter, at the date and time above, our webTV page here!
