Comet C/2021 S3 Panstarrs: an image – 3 June 2024

We imaged comet C/2021 S3 Panstarrs again, slowly fading after its perihelion last Feb. Our image is below.

The image above comes from the sigma clipping combination of 22, 120-second unfiltered exposures, taken with the ARTEC250+Paramount ME+C3Pro61000EC robotic unit available as part of the Virtual Telescope Project facility in Manciano, Italy. The telescope tracked the object while imaging.

Now, the tail is clearly broader than in April, when the comet likely was showing a neck-line.
