The new interstellar object A11pl3Z, now 3I/ATLAS: online observation – 3 July 2025

A new interstellar object, temporarily named A11pl3Z then officially 3I/ATLAS = C/2025 N1 (ATLAS), has been just discovered. It’s the third one ever found. We will show it live, online: join us from the comfort of your home.

The new interstellar object A11pl3Z was discovered on 1 July 2025 by the ATLAS Survey. 24 hours later, it received the official designation 3I/ATLAS = C/2025 N1 (ATLAS).

So far, only two previous interstellar objects traveling across the Solar System were found: 1I/ʻOumuamua in 2017 and 2I/Borisov in 2019,
