We observed comet 32P/Comas-Solà, on its way to perihelion (20 Apr. 2024). The image is available below.
The image above comes from the average of 5, 300-second exposures, unfiltered and unguided, remotely taken with the C14+Paramount ME+ST8-XME robotic unit available as part of the Virtual Telescope Project facility in Manciano, Italy. The telescope tracked the apparent motion of the comet.
On the upper-left, close to the image’s border, asteroid (35531) 1998 FQ70 is visible.
Comet 32P/Comas-Solà will reach its perihelion on 20 Apr. 2024, we will continue monitoring it.
