Comet C/2025 K1 ATLAS fragmentation: 12 Nov. 2025 image.
We imaged comet C/2025 K1 ATLAS again, after its nucleus fragmentation, spotting two main “parts”, while the sunward feature we reported yesterday is now stronger, looking like another piece/cloud.

Comet C/2025 K1 ATLAS: the fragmentation of the nucleus is well visible, with likely three parts. 12 Nov. 2025.
The image above comes from the sigma-clipping combination of seven, 120-second unfiltered exposures, remotely taken with the Celestron C14+Paramount ME+SBIG ST-10XME robotic unit available as part of the Virtual Telescope Project in Manciano, Italy.
We clearly see the two main fragments reported yesterday, plus a third element located in the solar direction (SE), respect to the main fragment, where yesterday we spotted a spike-like feature.
The 1:1, original image is available below (rotated on 180 deg.).

Comet C/2025 K1 ATLAS: the fragmentation of the nucleus is well visible, with likely three parts. 12 Nov. 2025.
We will track this event, weather permitting.
