Comet C/2020 F3 NEOWISE: a wide filed image – 18 July 2020.

We imaged Comet C/2020 F3 NEOWISE under a dark sky and we were impressed with its magnificence. Here it is our image.

The image above comes from the average of 6, 30-seconds exposures taken with a Canon DSLR 5DmIV + 135-f/2.0 lens. The sky was very dark and the comet was a stunning sight by naked eye, too. Using a 8″ telescope, the head of the comet was clearly greenish. Both the ion and dusty tails are visible. The image covers more than 10 degrees on its diagonal.

We will try to image it again with the same setup, soon

Next 23 July, with the comet at its minimum distance from the Earth, we will show C/2020 F3 NEOWISE live, online!
