Potentially Hazardous Asteroid 2022 RM4 close encounter: online observation – 1 Nov. 2022

Next 1 Nov. 2022, the Potentially Hazardous Asteroid 2022 RM4 will have a close, but safe encounter with us, coming at about 2.3 millions of km from the Earth, six times the average lunar distance. The Virtual Telescope Project will show it to you live!

The Potentially Hazardous Asteroid 2022 RM4 was discovered by the Panstarrs Survey on 12 Sept. 2022 and announced three days later. Its diameter in estimated in the 330 – 740 meters range, while the minimum distance will be reached on 1 Nov. 2022, at 18:32 UTC (source: Nasa/JPL).

The Virtual Telescope Project will show it live, online, just at the the fly-by time and at its peak in brightness. This way, you can have a look from the comfort of your home.
