Potentially Hazardous Asteroid 2008 OS7 close encounter: a video – 31 Jan. 2024
Using our images of potentially hazardous asteroid 2008 OS7, we created this video, showing the object in motion.
The footage above comes from 89 frames, taken back to back on 31 Jan. 2024, during the imaging session described here. The telescope tracked the asteroid while it moved across the sky. Note that the motion seen in the video is about 150 times faster than the real one.
We will show this asteroid live soon after the fly-by: our feed is scheduled for Feb. 2, starting at 18:00 UTC!
