Comet C/2025 K1 ATLAS fragmentation: new image with likely a new piece and animation – 18 Nov. 2025.
After a few days in a row of bad weather, we had less than 10 minutes of clear sky to capture new images of comet C/2025 K1 ATLAS, clearly detecting three fragments of the original nucleus and possibly a fourth one.

The image above comes from the sigma-clipping combination of 7, 60-second unfiltered exposures, remotely taken with the Celestron C14+Paramount ME+SBIG ST-10XME robotic unit available as part of the Virtual Telescope Project in Manciano, Italy. We had just the time to captures that handful of frames before clouds covered the whole sky.
We clearly see the main fragments we tracked earlier, but with hints of a possible fourth piece, as indicated below.
