The bright supernova SN 2023ixf in Messier 101: online observation – 26 May 2023.
Supernova SN 2023ixf is one of the brightest and closest ones seen in the last decade. Join our live feed to see this cosmic firework and its stunning host galaxy Messier 101 in real-time.
While we discover many supernova candidates every year, having one of them visibile through small telescopes is exceptional. SN 2023ixf is one of them, thanks to its distance of “just” 20-million light years from us. In addition, its host galaxy, the spiral Messier 101, is one of the most beautiful cosmic islands out there, making the vision even more precious and unique.
The Virtual Telescope Project will offer you a free live feed, showing both the supernova and its host galaxy in real-time, thanks to our power robotic telescopes.
The online session is scheduled for 26 May 2023, starting at 22:30 UT.
