In a few days, comet C/2025 A6 Lemmon will peak in brightness and while I’m writing a few people reported its naked eye observation, under dark, pristine skies. We have been imaging it since September and we are pleased to share our images below. By comparing the available pictures, taken with telescopes sporting different fields of view, you will see how the comet increased its brightness, showing its tail better and better. Technical details are available on each image.

Comet C/2025 A6 Lemmon will reach its perihelion (minimum distance from the Sun) on 8 November, when it will be about 80 million of km from our star, while it will touch the minimum distance from the Earth on 21 October, at 90 million of km from us.

We scheduled a live feed covering the flyby with the Earth; incredibly, in the very same hours another comet, C/2025 R2 SWAN, will be at its minimum distance from us and visible at the same time as C/2025 A6! Exciting nights are coming!
