Supernova SN 2022blm in UGC 3457 galaxy: a image – 23 Feb. 2022.
We observed the supernova SN 2022blm in the UGC 3457 spiral galaxy, as part of our supernova follow-up program: here it is our image.

The image above comes from the average of three, 300-second exposures, unfiltered, remotely taken with the “Elena” (PlaneWave 17″+Paramount ME+SBIG STL-6303E) robotic unit available as part of the Virtual Telescope Project. The supernova is indicated by an arrow in the upper left inset.
The host is UGC 3457, a spiral galaxy located at about 100 millions of light years. This transient was discovered on 5 Feb. 2022 by the Lick Observatory Supernova Search and it is a type Ia supernova.
Further observations will follow, weather permitting.
