Next 5 June, the Potentially Hazardous Asteroid (424482) 2008 DG5 will have a close, but safe close encounter with our planet, coming as close as 3.5 million of kilometers, 9 times the average lunar distance. We will show it live.

The potentially hazardous asteroid (424482) 2008 DG5 was discovered on 28 February. 2008 by the Catalina Sky Survey. Its diameter is estimated in the 320-700 meters range, while the minimum distance will be reached on 5 June 2025, at 23:59 UTC (source: Nasa/JPL). Of course, there are no risks at all for our planet.
A similar close approach happens one time every one year on average, accordingly to JPL Center for NEO Studies (CNEOS).
