Comet C/2012 S1 "Ison": 3 Apr. 2013
Comet C/2012 S1 “Ison” is still continuously monitored by astronomers worldwide, waiting for its potentially bright apparition later this year. The Virtual Telescope Project visited it again, after the full Moon moved away.
The image above comes from the average of 16 single exposures, each integrated for 300 seconds. For this, the PlaneWave 17 robotic unit was used. The telescope tracked the stars without any autoguiding. A little tail is very well visible.
We do expect to keep an eye on this comet for the next months!
