Next  25 Aug. 2013 at 19:31 UT, the potentially hazardous asteroid 2013 QR1 will reach a minimum distance from the Earth of about 3.0 millions of km. This is a very safe distance, so no risks at all for our planet. It will be a nice opportunity to spy this 250 meters large asteroid moving across the stars.

As usual with these asteroids, the Virtual Telescope Project will offer a live, online event sharing real-time images of 2013 QR1 with live commentary by our scientific staff. All this while it will reaches its minimum distance from us! This time, we will have a double coverage:

  • 24 Aug.  2013, starting at 22:00 UT.
  • 25 Aug. 2013, starting at 18:30 UT

To join, you just need to enter, at the date and time above, our webTV page here!
