Potentially Hazardous Asteroid (3122) Florence: a new image – (30 Aug. 2017)

While waiting to show it live, online tomorrow evening, at Virtual Telescope we imaged the potentially hazardous asteroid (3122) Florence again, while it was heading north.

The image above comes from a single, 60-seconds exposure, remotely taken with “Elena” (PlaneWave 17″+Paramount ME+SBIG STL-6303E) robotic unit available at Virtual Telescope. The telescope tracked the apparent motion of the object, so stars are trailing, while (3122) Florence looks like a bright dot of light in the center of the image.
