On 16 Aug. 2013, the Pan-STARRS survey in Hawaii discovered a new minor planet , resulted to be a potentially hazardous asteroid, now provisionally designed as 2013 QR1. It has an estimated diameter around 250 meters and next 25 Aug. will reach a minimum distance from the Earth of about 3 millions of km.

The image above was taken remotely observing with the PlaneWave 17″ robotic unit, while a strong Moon was up in the sky. The telescope tracked the object, so it looks sharp, while stars are trailing in the background.
