The image above comes from the average of 6, 300-second exposures, unfiltered, remotely taken with the C14+Paramount ME+ST8-XME robotic unit available as part of the Virtual Telescope Project facility in Manciano, Italy. The telescope tracked the apparent motion of the comet. A faint tail is pointing in the E-N-E direction.

Comet 144P reached its perihelion on 25 Jan. 2024 and it is a Jupiter family comet.
