Perseids 2014: some meteors – 6 Aug. 2014
While the Perseids will be a minor event in 2014 because of the full Moon, some meteors are already visible and were recorded by the all-sky camera installed at the Virtual Telescope.
Above is a poster showing four of them, mainly close to the radiant (and indeed they are very short in length). The sky was dark, as the Moon already moved away. These simple images show how such an all-sky camera con provide a number of benefits, especially when a meteor shower is around.
